Obituary: Raymond Alexander Chytraus

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Raymond A. Chytraus, passed away at his home on the morning of June 22, 1999, at the age of 88. He was a man of great integrity and kindness, and a great example of loving unconditionally. He loved life most when he was helping his family and friends.

He was born to Enoch and Sophia Alexanderson Chytraus on April 28, 1911, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Hamilton Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, East High, and University of Utah. He married the love of his life, Ruth A. Pearson on June 17, 1936; they just celebrated 63 wonderful years together. After sending his two sons on missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he became a member of the church. He began his own business in 1949 as a heating and air-conditioning contractor. He enjoyed many years with the Moose and Elks Clubs, and was a Grand Counselor of the United Commercial Travelers for Montana, Utah, and Idaho.He is reunited with loved ones who preceded him in death: his mother and father; his seven brothers: Carl, Fred, Oscar, Art, Elmer, Leonard, and Clarence, and one sister, Arlene. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; his sons, Clark D. (Jolene) Chytraus, Donn R. (Joy) Chytraus; nine grandchildren: Deborah (Jay) Hansen, Stephanie (Andrew) Pond, Rachael and Bart Chytraus, John (Heidi) Chytraus, Neal (Alisa) Chytraus, Danielle (Ben) Kuehn, Dean and Chrissy Chytraus; and five great-grandchildren: Brittany, Tyler, and Jake Hansen, Sadie Pond, and Aysia Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25, 1999 at 12 noon at the Winder 11th Ward, 3825 So. 950 East. Friends may call Friday morning from 10:30-11:45 at the church prior to the funeral service. Interment, Mt. View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South. Funeral Directors, Larkin Mortuary.
