Obituary: Linda Kay Waltz Jones

Linda Kay Waltz Jones passed away peacefully June 23, 1999 at her home in Salt Lake City, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Linda was born on Feb 4, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa, to Robert Eugene Waltz and Edna Catherine Cade. She spent her childhood in Iowa and South Dakota. At age 19, she joined the LDS Church, then earned a degree in Elementary Education, Art and History from BYU and taught at Vista Elementary School in Taylorsville.Linda married her best friend, Marvin Jones, in 1975 in the Provo Temple. Linda enjoyed nature and the beautiful things around her and instilled that love within her children. She was a talented artist and filled her home with her works of art. She found great joy in her family, home and garden. Linda devoted her life to the Lord, her husband and her children. She spent much of her time researching her ancestors and completing temple work for them.

Linda is survived by her husband, Marvin; two sons, Matthew (Portugal, Porto Mission),Michael (Chile, Vina del Mar Mission); daughter, Megan; brother, Richard Waltz (Holly) Groton, MA; brother-in-law, Carl Jones (Vicki); sisters-in-law, Ruth Batchler (Jack), Marietta Goforth, Norma White (Dave, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Thanks to Linda's family, friends and ward members who have been so loving, kind and giving during these last few months.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999 at the Monument Park Third Ward, 2215 E Roosevelt Ave (1450 S), Salt Lake City. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Mortuary 255 S 200 E, Salt Lake City, on Friday, June 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice.
