RETIRED EPISCOPAL PRIEST WILL PREACH AT ST. STEPHEN'S

The Rev. G. Edward Howeltt, retired priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah, will be the preacher Sunday, June 27, 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 4615 S. 3200 West, West Valley City. A social hour will follow the Liturgy. The regular vicar, the Rev. Patrick J. Ward, is visiting in Philadelphia.METHODIST YOUTHS TO HOLD YARD SALE IN CHURCH LOT

The Youth Fellowship of First United Methodist Church, 203 S. 200 East, will sponsor a "Youth 99" Yard Sale Saturday, June 26, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church parking lot. Proceeds will help send the group to the youth conference in Knoxville, Tenn.

'HEART GUARD' PROGRAM IN OGDEN AND BOUNTIFUL

"Heart Guard," a musical drama by contemporary Christian songwriter Michael Kelly Blanchard, will be presented June 27-29, 7 p.m. nightly, at the First Christian Church, 23rd and Madison, Ogden. July 1-3, the show moves to Bountiful's Grace Baptist Church, 390 N. 400 East. Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for seniors, students and children. Call 295-6679 for more information.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN CHURCH PLANS 2 BLOCK PARTIES

The Eagle Mountain Community Church will hold two communitywide block parties. The first is Monday, June 28, 5-8 p.m. at the Community Center. The second will be Tuesday, June 29, 5-8 p.m. at the Oak hollow Elementary School parking lot, 14130 S. 890 East. There will be free food, activities and music.

HOLLADAY BAPTIST HOLDING ITS ANNUAL PARTY SUNDAY

Holladay Baptist Church will stage its annual neighborhood block party, Sunday, June 27, 5-8 p.m. at 2780 E. 3900 South. There will be food, entertainment and music.

CHRISTIAN ADULT SINGLES STAGING POTLUCK THURSDAY

Christian Adult Singles, a non-denominational singles group, will hold a potluck dinner Thursday, July 1, 6:30 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 370 S. 300 East. A small group Bible study will follow the dinner. The adult singles will also sponsor a hike up City Creek Canyon on Saturday, July 3, 8 a.m.

LUTHERAN AID ASSOCIATION GIVES $875 TO HIGH SCHOOL

Aid Association for Lutherans recently presented $875 to Salt Lake Lutheran High School through its gift-match program. The total reflects AAL's matched portion of contributions received from remembers during the first quarter of 1999.

UNITED METHODIST PLANS FUND-RAISING DINNER SUNDAY

Centenary United Methodist Church, 1740 S. 500 East, will hold a fund-raising dinner Sunday, June 27. Activities begin at 4 p.m. with a free organ recital and the spaghetti dinner, with a $5 minimum suggested donation, follows at 5 p.m. Proceeds will help youth attend at national conference. RETIRED S.L. TEACHER ELECTED SOCIETY CHIEF

Margo Sotiriou, a retired teacher from Salt Lake City, has been elected president of the Philoptochos Society, Greek Orthodox Community of Salt Lake City. She succeeds Mary K. Diamant, who will continue as adviser. Shelly C. Anderson was elected first vice president and Nola G. Slager, second vice president.

'WALKING BY GRACE' WILL BE 'INSIGHT' TOPIC

"Learning to Walk by Grace" will be the topic next week on Insight for Living," airing weekdays at 8 a.m. on KEYY Radio (AM-1450). Chuck Swindoll hosts the program. On "Turning Point" next week, David Jeremiah will explore worship in his 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. weekday program.

'RELIGION ON THE LINE' TO FEATURE SEMINARY CHIEF

LUTHERAN AID GROUP HAILS S.L. MAN FOR SALES, SERVICE

Andrew Schrank of Salt Lake City was recently honored by the Aid Association for Lutherans for his excellence in sales and service to AAL members. As an associate for the Leonard Golke Agency of AAL, Schrank serves Lutherans and their family members in Bountiful, Brigham City, Cedar City, Centerville, Hurricane, Kanab, Layton, Logan, Ogden, Richfield, Roy, Salt Lake, Sandy and St. George.

NEW PASTOR BEGINS DUTIES AT OGDEN CHURCH JULY 4

The Rev. Alane Currier Griggs will begin her pastoral duties at the First United Methodist Church, 2604 Jefferson, Ogden, on Sunday, July 4. A Colorado native, she comes from Mancos United Methodist Church in Mancos, Colo.

PROPHET ELIAS PLANS BIBLE CLASSES JULY 6-10

Vacation Bible classes will run July 6-10 at the Prophet Elias Church, 5335 S. Highland Drive. The school is open to all children, first through sixth grades. The cost is $20 per child and the classes run daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers are needed. Call 328-9681 for information.

BAHAIS WILL HOLD EVENING OF DEVOTIONS AT EXPOMART

The public is invited to an evening of devotions and performances dedicated to raising the first generation free of prejudice. The program will be at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, at the ExpoMart, 230 W. 200 South, in the mezzanine.

Performers will include the Bahai Youth workshop, as well as prayers and readings from different religions. The event is sponsored by the Bahais of Salt Lake City. Anyone wanting to read or present on the topic of unit and love can bring it along or contact Noah Brandon, 486-3395.
