Weather Service resumes its flash flood warnings

The National Weather Service has resumed its seasonal practice of issuing flash flood warnings.

Twice a day, weather experts update an Internet site with information about flood potential throughout the state. The site is on the agency's home page, http://nimbo.wrh.noaa.gov/Saltlake.Meanwhile, Gov. Mike Leavitt has declared next week, June 28 through July 2, "Flash Flood Awareness Week" in Utah. "This is to make Utahns cognizant of the dangers of flash flooding," said William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service regional office in Salt Lake City.
