On June 24, the light of our lives, Gary Chad Holt was called home to our father in heaven to continue his journey. Chad was 20 years old and was tragically taken in an automobile accident.
He was born March 8, 1979 to Douglas Holt and Michelle Mackay in Salt Lake City. Graduated from Cottonwood High School where he was captain of the football team. He loved fly fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing, snowboarding and his family and friends. Chad loved life and lived it to the fullest. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He just finished his EMT Certification and was currently enrolled in the UFRA Fire Academy pursuing a career as a fireman and continuing his deep desire to serve others. He was at the happiest point of his life. Chad has influenced thousands of lives with his infectious smile and unconditional love.Survived by his mother and stepfather: Michelle (Randy) Telford, his father and stepmother: Douglas (Kerri) Holt, his loving sister and brother-in-law: Trisha (Mike) Wayman, his brother (best friend): Ryan Holt. Also survived by step-brothers: Bret (Laura) Telford, Rusty Telford, Rob (Tami) Telford, Jon Telford, Casey Telford, Tyson Ellis, Justin Ellis, step-sister: Kristen Ellis, one niece: Camryn Telford, grandparents: Newell and Regene MacKay, Galye and Gloria Holt, Leonard and Leona Telford, Leslie Ferguson and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and their parents. Preceded in death by his grandmother: Mary Dean Holt, step-grandfather: George Ferguson "Da" and namesake uncle: Gary Mackay.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 28, 1999 at the Cottonwood Heights Stake Center, 6890 South 2225 East. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and Monday from 10-11:45 a.m. at the ward. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
