DELTA -- A new superintendent will head the Millard School District. Raymond James Timothy has been selected by the board of education to fill the vacancy left by retiring Superintendent Kenneth Topham.
Timothy's appointment as the school district's educational leader will be effective July 1. He has an extensive educational background and wide experience as a teacher and administrator as well as gaining the honor of being selected the state's Outstanding Educator of the Year in 1989 by the Utah Parent-Teacher Association. He also won the honor twice in the Box Elder School District.The new superintendent taught school in Box Elder County before filling administrative positions as principal of the McKinley and Bear River elementary schools, principal of the intermediate school and assistant principal of Box Elder High School.
Timothy majored in elementary education at the University of Utah, earned his master's degree from Brigham Young University in 1981, and completed his doctorate in curriculum instruction at Utah State University in 1997.
