Hunsaker back as USU v.p. after 2-year hiatus

Two years after leaving his position as vice president at Utah State University, Fred Hunsaker is returning to the job.

Hunsaker left USU in July 1997 to take a job with the Utah System of Higher Education as an associate higher-education commissioner. He went back to his job as USU vice president for administrative affairs on Thursday. USU never hired a permanent replacement for him.

USU President George Emert said, "Fred brings a special talent for the technical aspects of that office, as well as a genuine love and understanding of both USU and its interactions with the community."

Hunsaker's responsibilities will include financial, facilities, business and administrative functions and athletics.

Emert has also designated Paul Norton, USU vice president for university relations and development, as special executive assistant to the president and announced two new administrative positions: vice president for alumni and development, and executive director for media and marketing.
