Obituary: Vera Gibson Schroder

Vera Gibson Schroder died June 27, 1999.

Born Sept. 2, 1911, to James Lambert and Sarah Pope Gibson. Married Lawrence D. Schroder, 1934.Dean of Women at Snow Jr. College. Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Salt Lake County Detention Home. Recipient of the Club Woman of the Year Award of the Utah Federation of Womens Clubs. Received the Merit Award of the Emeritus Club of the University of Utah Alumni Association. Elected to the Salt Lake Council of Womens Hall of Fame. Honorary member and past president of the Ladies Literary Club. Honorary member Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Education Association. Past Grand Matron Order of the Eastern Star of Utah.

Survived by daughter, Vera Jean Schroder; brother, Earl (Marsha) Gibson of New York, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday, 7-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to graveside services at 12 noon in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 "N" Street.
