Obituary: LaVon Garner Pollei

LaVon Garner Pollei, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 24, 1999, after a wonderful life of dedicated service to family, church, and friends.

LaVon was born January 13, 1915, to Benjamin F. and Mary Carr Garner in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School, attended Weber College and Business School in Salt Lake City. She married Charles Pollei on April 1, 1958. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. LaVon was an exceptional seamstress and interior decorator. She had a great sense of humor, a positive attitude, and was always willing to give.She is survived by her husband, Charles, Menlo Park, CA; three daughters, Kay Croxford Ginn, Carolyn Croxford, Kristine Croxford Hoyle, all of California; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Kimball, Bountiful; brother, Keith E. Garner, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vaughn Croxford, sisters, Loma Cook, Beatrice Waltz; brothers, Orvel Garner, Delbert Garner.

Services will be held Thursday, July 1, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Avenue. A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 30, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment Salt Lake Memorial Mausoleum.
