PADDLING TECHNIQUE. June 29, 7 p.m. Proper paddling techniques reduce fatigue and are more efficient. Prepare for the You Can Paddle Day at Little Dell.

YOU CAN PADDLE DAY. June 30, 3 p.m. at Little Dell Reservoir. Test paddle the new 1999 Mad River canoes, Perception kayaks and more. REI staff will be on hand to answer questions.

CYCLING ESSENTIALS. July 6, 7 p.m. Clinic will cover route finding, bike and equipment choosing, and clothing choice.

WILDERNESS FIRST AID. July 13, 7 p.m. Doctors from St. Mark's will present a clinic on treatment standards, first aid supplies and ideas to make your wilderness adventure safe.

BICYCLE INSPECTIONS. Each Saturday in July, 9 a.m. to noon. REI mechanics will be on hand to tune up and prepare your bike for the summer. Please clean bikes first.

TRAILSIDE BIKE REPAIR. July 20, 7 p.m. Learn basics repairs such as flat tires, broken chains and tool kits for regular maintenance.

CAVING. July 27, 7 p.m. Peter Rupliner will present a slide show on local and Mexican caves.

CORPORATE GAMES. June 26-July 31. Salt Lake County will sponsor an Olympic-style competition open to corporations employing 15 or more people. Events include basketball, running, golf, softball, volleyball and more. Call 468-2158.

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS. June-August 27 at various locations. Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring summer sports camps. Registration $315 per month for children 5-12. Call 272-2243.

VOLLEYBALL CLINIC. July 19-22, 9 a.m. at 450 S. 700 W. Registration $75 per person. Open to Fall '99 9th grade and below. Call 534-1933.

DEER VALLEY ADVENTURE CAMP. Through August 20, at Deer Valley Resort. Arts, crafts, swimming, hiking, biking and team sports. Registration $35 daily, $155 weekly. Call 435-645-6522.

CAMP ROGER: The YMCA's Camp Roger is now accepting registration for boys and girls between the ages of seven and 17. Summer camping season runs through Aug. 6. Three-day mini camps will cost $275. Regular five-day camp sessions cost $425, as will Leadership in Training sessions for 15- to 17-year-olds. Scholarships are available.
