LUND, Iron County -- Two Boy Scouts reported missing after they were apparently separated from their troop during a Monday afternoon hike were discovered by searchers Tuesday morning.
The two Texas boys, ages 19 and 17, were found at 9 a.m. in Jocky Springs, a spot in northwest Iron County near the Beaver County line. Iron County Sheriff's Department officials said the two were tired, thirsty and hungry but in good condition.There names were not immediately released by sheriff's dispatchers.
They were reported missing by their Scoutmaster between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. after they apparently wandered off from their troop. They were last seen roughly five miles west of Lund, a town 30 miles west of Cedar City.
After reporting the two boys missing the Scoutmaster continued looking for them. Search and rescue personnel began searching at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in an area 30 miles west of Cedar City.
