Obituary: Melva Burke Shober

Melva B. Shober passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 1999 at the age of 89 in the care of her loving son Tom.

She was born May 27, 1910 in Thistle, Utah to Thomas and Clara Burke. Melva Married Frank M. Shober June 1936. He preceded her in death 1n 1984. She lived in Scofield, Provo, and Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended West High School and St. Mary of the Wasatch. She and her mother owned and operated The Center Street Grocery store for 31 years. For many years she worked for the Paris Co. And Keith O'Brien's before retiring where she made many good friends. She loved people and made Holidays special for family and relatives. She sacrificed much for others and was always there for those who needed her.Survived by her son Thomas B. Shober, sister Evelyn Burke, grandchildren John Shober all of Salt Lake. Kristi Shober Denver, CO. Great-grandchildren Nicholas, Jacob and Cody Shober.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday Noon at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 East South Temple. A Vigil service will be held Wed. at 7 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6-7 p.m. also at the mortuary. Interment Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State.
