Obituary: Memphis Ula Talbot

KAYSVILLE--Memphis Ula Sudweeks Talbot died on Saturday, June 26, 1999 in Clearfield, Utah of causes incident to age.

Born December 6, 1912 in Circleville, Piute County, Utah, to Henry and Rosamond Wiltshire Sudweeks. Married Russell Hatch Talbot on June 16, 1933 in the Manti Temple.She was active and served in all organizations in the LDS Church. She was called as Primary President at the age of 14. She received an award for 30 years of Primary service. She was very active in the Cub Scout Program in Panquitch. She also served in the Relief Society and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers as Captain. Her work in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for three years was a highlight in her life.

She loved to crochet and make quilts and all members of her family benefited from her handiwork. She received an award from the Utah Drivers License Bureau for 45 years of safe driving with no tickets against her. As she moved throughout the state with her husband's employment, she made many friends in Coalville, Delta, Green River, Fountain Green, Salina, Mt. Pleasant and Panquitch.

She is survived by children, Grant (Vivian), Centerville; Darlene Orton, Ephraim; Sheldon (Karen), Orem; Ula John (Martin), Milford; Dee (Jan), Bountiful; Virginia Hanney (Val), Kaysville; 26 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Wanda Veater, American Fork; and a brother, Reid Sudweeks, Circleville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main, where friends and family may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:45-10:45 prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery, 2020 So. 200 W.
