Timpanogos Cave plans programs this weekend

AMERICAN FORK -- Timpanogos Cave National Monument, in partnership with the Uinta National Forest, will present a summer evening program series Friday, Saturday and Monday, June 4, 5 and 7, with National Park Service Rangers and guest speakers, at three locations in the canyon.

The programs are included in the $3 entrance fee.Friday's program at 8 p.m. in the Granite Flat Campground will present "Legends and Tales of American Fork Canyon," with Ranger Allen playing historic figure George Tying, telling stories of the heyday of the canyon and the riches found within.

Saturday's program at 8 p.m. at the Timpanogos Cave Visitors Center will present "Smokey Says."

Uinta National Forest Wildland Firefighters will discuss the pros and cons of fire and how to use fire safely.

Monday at 7 p.m., also at the Timpanogos Cave Visitors Center, special guest Alan Dally will present "Hawks: Keepers of the Sky," and show live hawks.
