Obituary: Jay W. Richardson

Jay W. Richardson, beloved husband and father, died at home with dignity on June 29, 1999.

Born in Magna, Ut. on Aug. 14, 1915 to Sarah Jane Sorenson and Bert Richardson. He graduated from Cypress High as Student Body President where he lettered in several sports. Jay attended the U. of U. before becoming Supervisor of Kennecott Railroad Ore Haulage Division. He served as President of Utah Copper Club and was a member of Ft. Douglas Hidden Valley Country Club and USGA Western Greens Section. As an avid golfer, he played to a two handicap and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Jay was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bert W. and Duane Richardson, and former wife, Pauline M. Stewart. He married Clara Dee Phibbs, and is survived by her, his son, Jay W. Richardson Jr., and step-children, Dee (Clayton) Ek, Gary Ray (Barbara) Phibbs, Gayle (Gayle) Knight; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, 1999 at 2 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, where friends may call Friday 1-1/2 hours prior to the service. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
