Obituary: Don Hansen

Don Hansen, 68, passed away June 2, 1999 after a long illness.

He was born March 26, 1931 in Salt Lake City to Raymond and Lula Dean Hansen. He attended South High School and attended Colorado State University. He later served his country during the Korean conflict as a Naval Officer in the Underwater Demolition Unit on the USS Marias. He met and fell in love with his best friend Bonnie Hanna May Grange. They were married December 7, 1955 in Las Vegas, NV. Dad worked in the automotive industry for more than 40 years. He retired from Ken Garff Enterprises in 1994. He served as WBBA President and coached Little League, Babe Ruth and Pony League Baseball for many years.Dad recently celebrated his 10-year anniversary as a cancer survivor. Dad knew how to make people laugh. He loved to tell jokes and good stories.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one daughter (Bobbi). Don is survived by his wife, three sons - D'on (Janet), Casey, and Jim. Two grandsons, Dustin and Rich; four granddaughters, Whitney, Krystin, Karli, and Kelsey. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was also survived by three brothers and two sisters.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the St. Mark's Hospital Critical Care and Physical Therapy Units for all their love and care.

Graveside services will be held Monday June 7, 11 a.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine St. Friends may call Sunday June 6th, 5-7 p.m. and Monday 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St.
