MONTANA

Glacier National ParkWith the exception of Avalanche campground, which opens June 18, Logging Creek campground and Quartz Creek campgrounds, which open July 1, campgrounds in Glacier National Park will be open by June 1. Operating dates for Two Medicine campground have yet to be announced. It is still covered with snow as are major portions of the Many Glacier campground. Campgrounds will close on various dates in September. Going-to-the-Sun Road at Logan Pass is not yet open. Crews have encountered deep snow and even deeper drifts. Presently, the road is open on the east side from St. Mary to Jackson Glacier overlook. On the west side, it is open for 25 miles to "the loop."

Operating dates for lodges are: Glacier Park Lodge (outside the park), through Sept. 27; Lake McDonald Lodge, through Sept. 27; Many Glacier Hotel, June 4-Sept. 20; Prince of Wales Hotel (on the Canadian side), through Sept. 27; Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, June 10-Sept. 7; Rising Sun Motor Inn, June 11-Sept. 7; Village Inn, through Sept. 21. Oregon Bach Festival

June 25-July 11 on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene. Mahler's "Resurrection Symphony" and the Mozart Requiem are among the many works scheduled to be performed. Grand Teton Music Festival

June 29-Aug. 21 at Teton Village in Jackson Hole. Significant 20th century works by Strauss, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Sibelius, Rachmaninov, Bernstein and Mahler and will be performed as well as masterpieces by Mozart and Beethoven. Eiji Oue is the music director. Utah Symphony concertmaster Ralph Matson is one of the concertmasters of the Festival Orchestra. Tickets range from $15 to $27.
