Obituary: Russell Tom Bennion-Whetstone

Russell Tom Bennion-Whetstone, almost 18 years old, of Vernon, Utah, died June 3, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah following an automobile accident.

He was born June 6, 1981 in Ogden, Utah. In his childhood, he lived in Glendora, CA, and later attended school in Logan, Vernon, Tooele, Grantsville, and Eureka. He recently graduated from Tintic High School and was planning on attending college in Price, Utah. His interests were his church (LDS), music, guitar, art, computers, weight-lifting, wrestling, nature, friends, and family. His favorite places were the Green-jacket Ranch near Vernon, and Washington State where he visited his father.He is survived by his father, Del Whetstone of Everett, Washington; his mother, Mary Ann B. Johnson and stepfather Bill Johnson of Vernon; brothers and sisters, Justin, Daniel, Ben and Kamisha Whetstone, and Lee and Charlotte Johnson; grandmothers, Sergene Bennion, and Wanda Mosley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 8 at 1 p.m. at the Vernon LDS Chapel, with a viewing preceding at 11:30 a.m. Friends and family can express sympathy at the Tate Mortuary in Tooele on Monday June 7 from 6-8 p.m. Interment in the Vernon Cemetery.
