Obituary: Brent T. Smith

DELTA/DRAPER--Brent T. Smith, 44, beloved husband, father, son, brother and cherished friend, was called home to live with our Heavenly Father on June 4, 1999.

Born August 7, 1954, in Murray, Utah, to Dale T. and Nona Holt Smith. Married Carol Bailey in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 8, 1974, for eternity.Brent was an active member of the LDS Church where he held the office of high priest. He held many callings but always cherished that of home teacher most. He was co-owner of Dale T. Smith and Sons Meat Packing. He loved his work and the people he worked with. He had a great love for animals and enjoyed helping his children prepare cattle and hogs for stock shows. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed the great outdoors.

His greatest accomplishment was being a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, friend and son-to-be grandfather. Brent was his wife and children's best friend and companion.

Survivors: wife, Carol; children, Audrey (James) Ashby, Gregory Brent (Randie) Smith, Jeremy Dale Smith, DeAnna Smith and Jayson Carl Smith; mother, Nona Hold Smith; sisters, Janice (Jasper) Shaffer, Sharon (LaVar) Burton, Diane (Steven) Roden, Nedra (David) Oliver, Paula (Ron Jensen; brothers, Dale E. (JoAnne) Smith, Darrell H. (Launi) Smith, Dennis H. (Cathy) Smith. Preceded in death by his father, Dale T. Smith.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the Draper 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 12300 South 600 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, on Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Draper Cemetery.
