First half: Utah shot 60 percent from the field against a team that set the WNBA single-game percentage record earlier in the week. Adrienne Goodson had her track shoes on for 10 first-half points. Natalie Williams got her third foul with about eight minutes left. Debbie Black had seven assists, five rebounds as Utah built a double-digit lead on a 20-6 rebound advantage.

Second half: Utah's lead got as big as 22 points and then dropped to two before it scored the final four points of the game on Wendy Palmer and Margo Dydek free throws to break its six-game losing streak. Merlakia Jones scored 23 of her game-high 27 points in the second half, 19 of them in the last six minutes.
