George L. Momberger Sr. passed away Aug. 4, 1999 at home with his loved ones. Born Dec. 25, 1915 to Martha and William Momberger in South St. Paul, Minn.
He served on an aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Served on the South Salt Lake Police Force for five years. George then worked for the Perma Pak Co. as a shipping and receiving clerk retiring in 1979. He had always been an active member of the LDS Church serving as a ward clerk.George married Sybil Bond on Dec. 22, 1945 in Minn., and later was solemnized in the SLC Temple June 3, 1954.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, two sons; Bob (Amalia) and George Jr. (Shawna), three daughter; Clara (Bob) Downard, Joanne (Mark) Otterstrom and Barbara, sister; Marian Petersen, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter Stacey.
Funeral services will be held Sat. Aug 7, 1999 2 p.m. in the Central Park Ward House (300 East 2700 South) under the direction of Memorial Estates Mortuaries. Visitation will be 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. Sat. at the church. Burial will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Estates Cemetery (10055 South State Street).
