Thurman Rodell Billings, age 82, passed away Dec. 30, 1999 in Blanding, Utah of heart failure.

Born March 6, 1917 in Prescott, Arkansas to James Samuel and Maggie Bolls Billings. Married Darlene Black on Oct. 3, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.Former Pres. of Brigham City Chamber of Commerce and Brigham City Eagles Lodge. Active member of the LDS Church. Longtime dance instructor. Avid golfer, raised Appaloosa horses, and antique clock collector. Owned and operated a country western nightclub where numerous entertainers got there start, including Merle Haggard and Buck Ownes. He was full of life, friendly and outgoing and made everyone feel good that he came in contact with, "he never met a stranger".

Survived by wife, Darlene; daughters, Peggy (Ken) Shulsen, Patricia (Howie) Levin; five grandchildren, Stacy (Kevin) Rice, Kenneth Billings Shulsen, Angela Oakes, Andrew Billings Levin, Adam Levin; great-grandson, Austin Rice; sisters and brother, Ethel Lee Watts, Marzelle Lasley, Pete (Marie) Billings. Preceded in death by son, Richard Wayne Billings, three brothers and two sisters, Lester, Claudie, D.D., Hattie May, Ruby.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday 1 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 South State St., where friends may call Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
