Forever loved mother, wife, grandma, Lucille Ann Effenberger Whetsel passed away peacefully December 29, 1999 from complications due to a stroke and other illnesses.

Born September 30, 1916 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Otto and Lena Effenberger. She worked much of her time at the Young Women's Christian Association in her home state of Arkansas, where she then met Cecil Arthur Whetsel and they were married January 10, 1946. She moved with him to Bingham Canyon, UT to raise a family. He passed away July 8, 1990. She had many talents including: being a great cook, playing the piano and organ and sketching. She was also noted for her beautiful voice and her penmanship. She was very supportive of and devoted to her family and others.Survivors: daughters, Diann Whetsel Stokes and Lynette (Grant) Ingledew of South Jordan; three grandchildren; sister, Mary Louise (Bill) Threlkeld of Sherwood, Arkansas. Preceded in death by three brothers.

A funeral mass will be recited Monday, January 3, 2000, 10 a.m., St. Therese Catholic Church, 7832 S. Allen St. (615 West) Midvale. Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 S. 1700 East Sunday 6-7 p.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
