Grandma, Della Rothwell Burnell, was born on October 14th, 1925 to loving parents Achel and Eliza Jex Rothwell.

She was raised in Idaho and Spanish

Fork and worked at Hill Field during World War II.

She married her lifelong compan-ion, William Edward (Bill) Burnell in Ely,

Nevada. They were hardly ever seen apart.

They raised their family in Spanish Fork. Their children are Randy (Growler)

and Sisie Burnell of Spanish Fork; Sandra Lee and Ronald Spencer of

Springlake; and Ace and Jolyn Burnell of Spanish Fork.

Grandma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught Primary and loved Cub Scouts and helping Grandpa with his scouts. Grandma liked things simple. She loved bowling, and Grandma and Grandpa loved

to fish and spent their winters at Lake Mead, Nevada. Grandma also loved to do many crafts: crocheting dolls, afghans, slippers and much more. Last year, she began crocheting afghans to donate to the UVRMC Parent to Parent Program. She collected coins, enjoyed watching BYU

Football, the Utah Jazz and Tiger Woods. She was always playing Solitaire,

beating someone at Yahtzee or winning big at Bingo.

Grandma loved her family. She spent many years caring for her mother and she has always supported her family in many ways.

She passed peacefully on November 10, 2000 with her loving husband, Bill, of 52 years by her side. Her three children, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews will also miss her. At the same time, she is reunited with her father who died 52 years ago, her mother, her

sisters, Helen Marshall and Veloy McAffee and her brother, George Rothwell.

She is also reunited with her young son, George Edward Burnell who died when

he was five years old. What a joyous reunion.

Her family would like to thank all the doctors and friends who have helped

and been so kind to her in her illness.

Because Grandma never liked a lot of fuss, we will have a short graveside service to honor her on Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at 1 p.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East.
