James Marvin "Bill" Anderson, age 88, died November 1, 2000, in Tooele, Utah.

He was born Nov. 30, 1911, in Grants-ville,

Utah, to Antone and Rachael Augusta Worthington Anderson. He attend-ed school in Grantsville and served in the United States Army Infantry in Alaska during World War II. Following his

honor-able discharge he worked in local industries and in mining. He married Martha Daniels and they had two sons, both of whom died in infancy. Later divorced. Married Velma Scott and they were the parents of a daughter. Velma preceded Bill in death.

Survivors include daughter Jamie (Ray) Brooks and four grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Jacqueline and Rachael, all of Portland, Oregon.

Bill led a colorful life and was skilled in

many occupations. He was a kind man with a keen sense of humor. He loved prospecting and rock-hounding.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Marshall Crossing Ward, 81 N. Church Street, Grantsville, at 10 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will be in the Grantsville City cemetery.

The family extends its gratitude to the staff and to Bill's friends at the Tooele Valley Nursing Home for their many kindnesses.
