PAROWAN, Iron County — A Copperton woman is dead and her husband and daughter are in the hospital after their car rolled as they headed to Sea World in California for a Thanksgiving vacation.

Killed was:

Jodee G. Christopherson, 26.

The family was driving south on I-15, eight miles north of Parowan, Wednesday morning at around 5 a.m. when the driver, 28-year-old Michael C. Christopherson, drifted into the median, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

After hitting the median the car rolled several times, ejecting Jodee Christopherson, Michael Christopherson and their 7-year-old daughter, Emma. None of the three were wearing seat belts, UHP said.

Jodee Christopherson died at the scene.

Michael Christopherson was taken by medical helicopter to LDS Hospital with a skull fracture and internal injuries. He underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition Wednesday afternoon. His daughter was taken by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center with a broken right arm and abrasions. Doctors listed her in fair condition Wednesday afternoon.

The accident is still under investigation, but alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor, UHP said.
