Lillie L. Flemings, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on November 27, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Draper, Utah.

Lillie was born June 17, 1918 in Tusca-loosa, AL., to Alex and Fannie Bank. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1945 and married Walter Lewis (divorced). Married Randolph Flemings in 1954 (divorced). She was a member of Trinity AME Church for over 52 years. She was a member of the Queen Esther #2 Chapter of Eastern Star, Utah Chapter. Lillie retired from the Salt Lake City Housing Authority in 1980. She received many humanitarian and civic awards for her caring and hard work on behalf of the poor and less fortunate. Her heart was made of gold. She fed the hungry and clothed those who had little. If it was a loaf of bread, a pot of beans or a bed to sleep in, if Ms. Flemings had it and you needed it, it was yours. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and this community.

Ms. Flemings is survived by her daughter, Agnes Moore, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; son, Robert Flemings (Abrea), Denver, Colorado; and daughter, Sandra Adams (Otis), Draper, Utah; 21 grandchildren; and a host of great and great great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas C. Allen (Mary), Salt Lake City: cousin Oliver Hobson, Salt lake City; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother, father, three sisters, brother and two grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2000 at 12 noon at the Trinity AME Church, 239 East 600 South, Salt Lake City. Friends may call one hour before service, 11-12 a.m. for viewing. Burial will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 S., Salt Lake City.
