Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Vilate Jepson Smith Lang, 93, passed away peace-fully Tuesday after-noon, Nov. 28th, in Salt Lake City.

Born October 8, 1907 in Virgin, Utah, to James and Grace Wright Jepson. Spent her childhood in Hurricane. Married George Hubert Smith on July 21, 1926. He passed away Sep-tember 12, 1949. She married James Ross Lang in 1952. He passed away in 1969. She has lived in Glenns Ferry, Idaho; Milford, Salt Lake and Hurricane, Utah. Vilate was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as president in all auxiliaries. She was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She won many blue ribbons for her quilts and sweaters, and was well known for her cooking talents. She was always ready for a trip, and traveled to Europe and Mexico. She dearly loved her family. Her home was always a haven for family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Dorothy Colleen (Mel) Stevens, Clara Grace (Elden) Cowan, Salt Lake City, Hubert George Smith, Roy, UT.; daughter in law, Dorothy Smith, Ogden; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by two brothers, Woodrow Jepson, Hurricane, UT, and Thomas Jepson, Sun City, AZ. Preceded in death by two daughters, Norma Payne and Anita Bell; and three grandchildren.

resided for several years; Dr. Chris Romney and nurse Jennifer.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 2, 2000, at the Garden Park Ward Chapel, 1150 E. Yale Avenue. Friends may call from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Mr. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral directors: Larkin Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Primary Children's Medical Center.
