SHARE Envision Utah will hold 11 ‘toolbox’ workshops

Envision Utah will hold several workshops in November designed to share urban planning tools that will assist local governments in implementing quality growth strategies.

The group has developed a "toolbox," constructed to assist a variety of communities in the areas of protecting sensitive lands, meeting housing needs, developing walkable communities, infill and redevelopment and water conservation strategies.

Envision Utah will host 11 implementation workshops for elected officials, planning commissions, professional planners and other stake holders to review strategies in the toolbox. The toolbox also gives a broad description of model development codes, design standards, and strategies for accomplishing quality growth objectives,

Workshops will take place at the following times and locations:

American Fork — Wednesday, Nov. 8, 6:30-9 p.m., American Fork Junior High School, 1120 N. 20 West.

Sandy — Wednesday, Nov. 8, 6:30-9:30 p.m., Sandy City Hall, 10000 Centennial Parkway.

Spanish Fork — Thursday, Nov. 9, 6:30 -9 p.m., Spanish Fork High School, 99 N. 300 West.

Ogden — Thursday, Nov. 9, 6:30-9 p.m., Ogden Eccles Convention Center, 2415 Washington Blvd.

Park City — Tuesday, Nov. 14, 6:30-9 p.m., Park City Marriott Hotel & Resort.

Salt Lake City — Wednesday, Nov. 15, 6:30-9 p.m., University of Utah Student Union.

Layton — Wednesday, Nov. 15, 6:30-9 p.m., Northridge High School, 2430 N. Hillfield Road.

Tooele City — Thursday, Nov. 16, 6:30-9 p.m., County Courthouse, 47 S. Main.

West Jordan — Saturday, Nov. 18, 9-11:30 a.m., West Jordan High School, 2700 W. 8136 South.
