RICHFIELD — At least a dozen earthquakes occurred Wednesday afternoon in central Utah near Richfield, the University of Utah Seismograph Stations reported.

Richfield residents reported feeling the two largest quakes, which measured at magnitude of 2.8 and occurred at 1:41 and 2:15 p.m.

This type of earthquake "swarm" is common in the Sevier Valley, and the phenomenon occurred several times last year, including quakes with a magnitude up to 3.9 on the Richter Scale.
