"Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow . . . " is the motto of the U.S. Postal Service. This determination is vividly displayed in a photographic history of the men and women who have worked to deliver the mail since the early 1800s.
The new book, "An American Postal Portrait: A Photographic Legacy," is now at many of the nation's bookstores.
In more than 200 rarely seen photos — beginning with the advent of photography in 1860 and continuing to the present — this 178-page volume contains behind-the-scene stories and technological accomplishments of the Postal Service and its employees.
