An Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service beagle known as Melody sleeps Thursday during her retirement ceremony at Sydney's Mascot International Airport. The 13-year-old Melody was one of the two founding beagles that started the "sniffer" inspections at the airport, with more than 100 seizures of illegal items on average per month during her more than eight-year career. Her most famous discovery was that of live turtles in a smuggler's luggage.
