- Lloyd Jack Draayer, 70, died Monday, November 27, 2000 at a Las Vegas Hospital.

He was born May 4, 1930 in Clinton, Utah, the son of Jack and Ida Draayer. He graduated from Weber High School, Weber Junior College, attended the College of Idaho and graduated with a B.A. Degree from the University of Utah. While at Weber High, he earned nine letters, in four different sports, and played on the Class of 1948 State Championship Basketball Team. He won the Ogden Standard-Examiner Award for being the 1948 Outstanding Athlete at Weber High.

Lloyd retired as a Lt. Col. after 22 years of service in the United States Marine Corps. He was a decorated war hero having served three tours in Vietnam and flying over 500 combat missions. He was particularly proud of being a member of the Squadron that won the Marine Corps Commandant's trophy for being the Outstanding Squadron in 1963. Lloyd had also performed as a professional rodeo clown and bullfighter during his Marine Corps career.

Surviving are his wife, Natasha Carol Draayer, of Ft. Myers, Florida; one daughter, Jennifer Browning, Colorado Springs, Colo.; his mother, Ida E. Draayer, South Ogden; one sister, Renae Coburn, Surprise, Ariz.; one brother, Robert Kash Draayer, Chandler, Ariz.; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Sat. at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408

Washington Blvd. Family will meet friends at the mortuary on Sat. 12 noon to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Duke University, c/o Glycogen Storage Disease IIIA Research DUMC - Medical Genetics Box 3528 Durham, NC 27710.
