Heinz J. A. Peshell, 97, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born No-vember 3, 1903 in Radebuhl, Germany to Max Alfred Pue-schel and Bertha Elizabeth Lee. He married Ruth Pratt on March 21, 1943 in Paris, Texas. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was educated in Germany. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the German-Austrian Mission from 1926 to 1928. Upon completion of his mission, he immigrated to the United States, narrowly escaping inscription into the German Army. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Army Medical Corp while his brother fought for Germany and was a POW in Russia. He was a devoted family man who taught his children how to be grateful for everything even when you had nothing. He loved his fellow men, but even more he loved God. His cheerful outlook on life touched and inspired all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed; but he has moved on to a better place and is enjoying the love and companionship of those who paved the way and prepared a place for him in the presence of our Father-In-Heaven.

He is survived by his five children, Rinehart L. Peshell (Melodee), Anthony P. Peshell (Calleen), Clifford M. Peshell, Lorraine Peshell and Lynnette Peshell; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters; and two brothers, and his wife.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at 12 noon in the Goff Mortuary 8090 S. State St. where friends may call Sunday night 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the
