"Santos." The word means "saints " in Spanish; it also refers to the beautiful retablo religious carvings of Hispanic artisans from the Southwest. And a major exhibit of 68 pieces is going on display at Juan Diego High School, 300 E. 11800 South, Sandy, on Saturday, Dec. 9. The display comes from Regis University in Denver.
A special symposium will be held at the school from 2-5 p.m. featuring dialogues with several prominent scholars, including Thomas J. Steele, one of the world's foremost authorities on the topic.
