DETROIT (Reuters) — Six children were killed and a 7-month-old boy was critically injured in a fire at a public-housing complex on the east side of Detroit Friday morning.

Three of the children were pronounced dead at the Brewster public housing complex and three others at a local hospital, an administrative staff member for Detroit Fire Commissioner Charles Wilson said.

One adult was injured as well, the staff member said. All six of the children, aged 2 to 7, were believed to be related.
