PARK CITY — Nutraceutical International Corp. on Friday reported increases in net income for the quarter and fiscal year ended Sept. 30.
The manufacturer and marketer of products sold to health food stores reported net income of $1 million, or 9 cents per share, in the quarter, up from $800,000, or 6 cents per share, for the same period a year ago. Revenues for the quarter totaled $24.9 million, down from $26.2 million a year ago.
Net income for the year was $5.6 million, or 46 cents per share. That compares with $5.3 million, or 42 cents per share, in the prior fiscal year. Revenues for the fiscal year totaled $106.8 million, about the same as the prior year.
The company's stock price Friday morning was $1.88, down 13 cents from Thursday's close and the low point for the company during the year. The stock price has dropped steadily for the past year, with the high being $4.75.
Nutraceutical's branded products include Solaray, KAL, NaturalMax, VegLife, Premier One, Solar Green, Natural Sport, ActiPet, Action Labs and Thompson. Under the name Woodland, the company markets a line of books and pamphlets to national retail bookstores and to health food stores. Nutraceutical also manufactures bulk materials for use in its own products and for sale to other manufacturers and marketers in the nutritional supplement industry.
