ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Xerox Corp. is laying off 200 production workers on top of 350 administrative staff who were let go last month.
The office equipment maker, reeling from stiff competition, posted its first quarterly loss in 16 years in October and has embarked on an overhaul that calls for slashing jobs, cutting costs and selling off billions of dollars in assets.
The company, which is based in Stamford, Conn., said Friday it handed out layoff notices this week to 200 union workers in the Rochester area, many of them hired within the last three years.
