"The Nutcracker" will be especially cool this afternoon in Murray.

Advanced ice skaters from clubs around the Salt Lake Valley will join younger performers from the county's Learn-to-Skate program to present "The Nutcracker" on ice at 1 p.m. The County Ice Center, 5201 S. Murray Park Lane (160 East) is the venue for the show, about a young girl's Christmas Eve dream set to Tchaikovsky's beloved score.

Admission to the show is $5, and children age 5 and under are free. Family passes — good for six people — are $20.
