Josephine Tanner Brunsvik, age 82, passed away Nov. 29, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Josephine was born July 25, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Henry Smith Tanner and Columbia Eden Richards. She attended West High School and Excelcis Beauty School. She married Ingvar Brunsvik in the Salt Lake Temple.
Josephine styled hair professionally and served many loved ones through styling their hair. She loved art and music. Her greatest treasures were her family. She was proud to be part of the Tanner and Richards families. Her Uncle Alma Richards, brought home the 1st Gold Medal for Utah, her sister, Virginia Tanner was a pioneer for children's creative dance at the U. of U.; her sister, Roselyn was Utah Mother of the Year in 1994, her sister, Mildred Pettit wrote the music for "I am A Child of God", and her father, Henry Smith Tanner was a judge and the first State Auditor for Utah.
Josephine is survived by her husband, Ingvar Brunsvik; daughters, Margy (Victor) Postic, Susan Moore, Elizabeth Ann Brown and Dorthy K. (Raymond) Cloward; sons, Robert Brunsvik and Stanley (Norma) Brunsvik.
She is also survived by her sister, Roselyn (Robert, D.D.S.) Christensen; sister-in-law, Laurel Tanner; brother, David Smith (Pat) Tanner, D.D.S., 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 4, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing Monday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: Valley View Funeral Home.
