Nyles Openshaw, 79, passed away Thursday November 30, 2000, at his sons home in Butte.
He was born June 10, 1921 in Santaquin, UT, the son of Melvin Arnold and Leah (Holladay) Openshaw. He received his early schooling in Santaquin and graduated from Payson High School.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Edith Thomas and together they owned and operated Openshaw Poodles in Salt Lake City.
Nyles came to live in Butte in December of 1999. He was instrumental in helping his sons open their business "Off the Wall" in 1977.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Edith in 1981 and his brother Richard. Surviving relatives include his sons; Mark and John of Butte; good friend Virgil Toliver of Salt Lake; sister-in-law Naoma Openshaw of St. George and Edna Brotherson of Mt. Pleasant and brother-in-law Harold Thomas of Magna.
Services will be held on Monday at 12 p.m. at Holladay Hills Mortuary Santaquin with a viewing one hour before. Interment to follow in Santaquin City Cemetery, with American Legion Post #84 Military Rites.
