Max D. Hughes, age 76, passed away peacefully November 29, 2000 in West

Valley City, Utah.

Max was born October 31, 1924 in Menan, Idaho to Elza and Goldie Hughes. He married Hope Bybee. Max spent his early years in Idaho. Following his service in the Marine Corps during World War II he resided in Sou-thern California. He had a long career as a General Contractor both there and in Utah until his retire-ment. As a young man he enjoyed sports such as basketball, water skiing and motorcycle riding. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards and visiting with friends and family. He was an active member of Kearns Senior Center.

Max is survived by his wife, Hope of 58 years; daughter, Sherry (Ed); son, Craig (Teri); three grandchildren, Kimberly, Becky (Jason), Christy and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers, Ottis, Robert and Mickey. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 4, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S. The family will receive friends at a viewing Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. Funeral Directors: Valley View Funeral Home.
