LONDON (AP) — Police arrested three people Saturday in connection with the stabbing of a 10-year-old London schoolboy whose death has triggered nationwide soul-searching about the state of Britain's inner cities.

Two youths, both 13, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested early Saturday in south London, near where Damilola Taylor died, police Detective Superintendent David Dillnutt said. Taylor bled to death on Monday after being stabbed in the leg with either a shard of glass or a knife, severing an artery. Witnesses reported seeing several youths aged 11 to 14 running from the scene.

The three were later freed on bail.
