TRUCKEE, Calif. (AP) — A moderate earthquake rattled the Sierra Nevada near Lake Tahoe early Saturday. No injuries or damage were immediately reported.

The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 hit at 7:34 a.m. just west of the California-Nevada border near Truckee, according to the United States Geological Survey's Web site.
