Before arriving in Sydney, Australia, for the Olympic Games in September, the Olympic flame was carried all over the Pacific, from island to island, and through every state and territory in the country. On Monday the world may learn how the flame will make its way to Salt Lake City in 2002.

The Salt Lake Organizing Committee is scheduled to reveal details of the plan to bring the Olympic flame to Utah Monday on the Today show in New York City, which airs in Utah on NBC (Ch. 5) from 7 to 10 a.m.

The SLOC announcement is expected to include information on what U.S. states and cities the torch will pass through and how local folks can watch the torch relay, according to Shan Sethna, media relations manager for SLOC.
