A man on parole for several drug convictions was arrested Thursday afternoon after officers said they found a large methamphetamine lab in his apartment.

A Salt Lake County sheriff's deputy received a tip that the suspect, 29, was setting up a meth lab. When the deputy and an agent from Adult Probation and Parole went to the man's apartment near 7700 S. Oak St. (455 West), they found a "big operation," said Bradley Bassi, probation and parole spokesman.

Bassi said the suspect had everything set up and was about to start making meth.
