A West Valley couple has been charged with endangering a child after their 21-day-old baby tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana.

According to documents filed Friday in 3rd District Court, police discovered the baby following a raid to capture the operators of a methamphetamine lab. The baby was found at the home of relatives of one of the suspects by Child Protective Services and was transported to Primary Children's Medical Center. It later tested positive for the two drugs.

The couple, a 26-year-old woman and a California man, were found sleeping. While searching the house, police found a highly contaminated methamphetamine lab, as well as many of the chemicals associated with the production of meth. They also said the front door of the house had been "booby-trapped" with an electric shock device.
