John "Jack" Wadsworth Wilcox, 70, passed away peacefully Dec. 1, 2000 from complications of leukemia.

Jack was born March 3, 1930 in Alamo, NV to Carlyle and Jesma Stewart Wilcox. On Feb. 18, 1950, he married his high school sweet-heart and the love of his life, Carlita Worth-en, in the St. George LDS Temple. Togeth-er, they survived 11 moves across the western United States, and raised nine beautiful chil-dren.

After 36 years with the U.S. Postal Service, he retired in 1985 as MSC Manager/Postmaster in southern Idaho. He enjoyed golfing, camping, gardening, crossword puzzles, sneaking Big Gulps past grandma, and spending time with his many grandchildren. He will be remembered as a caring neighbor who spent countless hours helping those around him. He had a strong love for the gospel, and served faithfully in many church callings.

Jack is survived by his wife; three daughters, Juanita (Wayne) Smith, Marianne (Mike) Stanfield, Kerilynn; five sons, John Stephen (Denise), Kenneth Lyle (Kate Simons), James William (Melodee), David Lee (Jane), and Kent Stewart (Jennifer); 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; mother; two sisters; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacalyn; father; and a sister.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday Dec 4, at the Valley View LDS 11th Ward Chapel, 4032 S. 2300 E. Friends may call an hour before the service, or 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Dr. Interment, Holladay Memorial Cemetery.
