More than 1,000 people turned out to raise money in the fight against Krabbe's disease, a fatal genetic disorder suffered by the young son of former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly.

Guests at Friday night's benefit in Buffalo, N.Y., for Hunter Kelly included rockers Meatloaf and Hootie and the Blowfish, and former and current NFL stars Darryl Talley, James Lofton, Doug Flutie and Bernie Kosar.

Doctors did not expect Kelly's child — now 3 — to live much beyond 14 months. But he's passed that and other milestones, Kelly said.
