- Barbara Fowler Bruderer, age 47, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2000 after a valiant three year battle with cancer. Barbara lived her life as an example to all those around her and had the ability to touch the lives of those she met.
She was born Aug. 21, 1953 in Chey-enne, WY a daughter of Donald P. and Elizabeth Layton Fow-ler. She married Clark C. Bruderer March 19, 1976 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Barbara graduated from Murray High School and attended two years of college. She had lived in Cheyenne, WY; Ogden; Murray, UT; Salt Lake City; Loveland, CO; Kaysville and Farmington, UT.
She was active in the LDS Church and served as Primary president and counselor, Primary teacher, Relief Society home and family teacher extraordinaire, Young Women's and Sunday School teacher. She served in the PTA, school councils, scouting and other volunteer work. Barbara was a loving wife and extraordinary mother.
The family gives special thanks to Dr. Saundra Buys and her staff and the staff at the infusion room, Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Surviving are her husband, Clark; three sons, Steven C. Bruderer, Jason C. Bruderer, Farmington, UT, Scott C. Bruderer, a missionary in Pennsylvania; two daughters, April Bruderer, Amber Bruderer, Farmington, UT; mother, Elizabeth Layton Fowler, Murray, UT; and five sisters, Sharrel Miller, Provo, UT, Pamela Balfour, Darla Johnson, Kim Johnson, South Jordan, UT, Robin Connell, Livermore, CA. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald P. Fowler and a sister, Karen Fowler.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000 at the Farmington LDS North Stake Center, 729 W. Shephard Lane. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., 6-8 p.m. and Weds. at the church 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
